ANNE THAYER

Anne Thayer grew up hiking and camping in the mountains of northern New Mexico and Colorado.  She graduated with honors from Beloit College in 1995 with a degree in Geology.  She then spent several years living and working in Wisconsin, New Hampshire, South Dakota, New Mexico and California.  She settled in Texas after meeting her husband, John, during a stint as a river rafting guide in Big Bend.  Anne's love of the outdoors eventually led her to follow her grandfather's footsteps into land surveying.  Anne began her surveying career in 1995, and she became a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in 2005.  When not at work, Anne can be found training for her next marathon.

MIKE NORMAN

Mike was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and attended high school in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  After graduating in 1986, Mike went to work for an industrial contractor until 1993.  At that time he relocated to Austin and began his surveying career with this company at that time.  Since that time, he has become proficient in all aspects of the field to finish procedures of the surveying profession.  Mike has a wonderful family, he enjoys the outdoors, especially the Highland Lakes, and of course, being from the South, he has a unique fondness for cars.
HOLT CARSON

Holt Carson, a fifth generation Texan, grew up in the small community of Camp San Saba in McCulloch County.  After graduating from Brady High School in 1983, he attended the University of Texas at Austin.  He began his surveying career during the summer of 1985 and after several years under the supervision of J. Leroy Bush (RPS 1828) and Herbert Hawkes (RPS 1094), he became a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in 1996.  He subsequently became licensed as a Licensed State Land Surveyor in 1999.  He now resides just outside of Dripping Springs, Texas, with his wife, Teresa, son Logan, and two daughters, Mica and Jenna.  Holt continues to enjoy the outdoors, baseball, and the study of Texas history.
BRUCE FENDER
Survey Technician

Bruce was born in Nebraska City, Nebraska and was reared in Oakland, Iowa until his family moved to Leander, Texas in 1985.  After graduating in 1987 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and completed infantry training in Ft. Benning, Georgia, and was assigned to the 3rd U.S. Infantry "The Old Guard" in Ft. Myer, Virginia.  While in the "Old Guard" he participated in several ceremonies of national significance, including the Presidential Inaugurations of George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, the 50th Anniversary D-Day Celebrations in Europe and countless funeral honors of the fallen soldiers held in Arlington National Cemetery. In 2003 and 2004, Bruce was deployed to Afghanistan to assist in the War on Terror.  He began his surveying career in 1998 with this company and has since become an invaluable part of the organization.  He still remains in the Army Reserves with over 21 years of service to his country.  In addition to his surveying and military careers, he is raising his two sons, Michael and Liam, with his wife, Lacey.
